Athenaeum Lodge Guest House

Everybody at the Athenaeum Lodge Guest House wishes you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Some thoughts from me for anyone who wishes to read them.

1. Life  isn’t fair but it’s still good.

2. When in doubt just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won’t take care of you when you’re sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit card each month.

6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.

8. It’s ok to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay cheque.

10. When it come s to chocolate resistance is futile.

11. Each day, each hour, each minute, is special. Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

And some jokes to finish on.

I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn’t find any.

I bought some HP sauce the other day. It’s costing me 6p a month for the next 2 years.

Last night I dreamed I ate a ten-pound marshmallow, and when I woke up the pillow was gone.

A woman told her doctor, ‘I’ve got a bad back. ‘The doctor said, ‘It’s old age.’  The woman said, ‘I want a second opinion. ‘The doctor says, ‘OK. you’re ugly as well.’

A man walked into the doctor’s, The doctor said ‘I haven’t seen you in a long time’
The man replied, ‘I know I’ve been ill’.

A man walked into the doctor’s, he said ‘Doc I’ve hurt my arm in several places’.
The Doc said ‘well don’t go to those places any more’.

A man walked into a bar. An iron bar.

I went to the doctors the other day. I said ‘Doc can you give me something for my liver’. So he gave me a bag of onions.

I went to the doctors the other day and I said, ‘have you got anything for wind?’
So he gave me a kite.

Same old jokes but the’re still funny – aren’t they?

We are opening on Monday 4th of January.
