Screen printing for fabric workshop

Sunday 4 July
10.30am to 3.30pm

An introduction to simple printing on fabric using simple resists and thermofax screens to create fascinating images.

The day will start at 10.30am and run until 3.30pm and costs £30 per person. Small group numbers ensure time and space to develop your ideas to the full, whether a beginner or more experienced artist. Booking for workshops is essential. Most materials will be provided, but a list of any additional requirements will be provided when booking.

Tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch or the Stables Café will be open for refreshments.


Historic buildings tour

Thursday 8 July
1.30pm to 3pm

Guided walk with archaeologist and steward, James at 1.30pm from the terrace in front of the House. Learn about the history of some of our recently restored buildings and look at some fascinating recent studies of the 18th century English Garden House. The excursion will take approximately 1 5 hours and cost £5 per person. Spaces are limited so please book early.


Murder mystery evening

Saturday 17 July
7pm to 10.30pm

Things that go bump in the night… for something a little more exciting why not join the Candlelight Theatre Company here at Mount Edgcumbe for cocktails, a three course Hollywood themed dinner (BYOB) and….. murder most horrid!

Meeting at Mount Edgcumbe for a cocktail at 7pm you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow sleuths and plan how you’re going to solve the murder. The cost of the evening is £35 per person, groups welcome. Booking is a must for this popular event, so don’t miss out – call today.

Music in the park

Organised by The Friends of Mount Edgcumbe

While away a pleasant afternoon in the English Garden listening to the City of Plymouth Concert Band. The event starts at 2.30pm and admission is free.


Garden tour

Wednesday 21 July
1.30pm

Enjoy the delights of the formal gardens here at Mount Edgcumbe with a guided tour by one of our experienced staff. Learn how the gardens were originally created, and who designed them, where the fascinating shell seat came from and who influenced the overall design here at Mount Edgcumbe. With an amazing variety of rare and unusual plants to see on the tour, your day will be full of surprises!

Meeting at Cremyll Gates at 1.30pm, the event will last for about two hours and costs £3. Due to limited space, booking is essential.


Childrens story time

Sunday 25 July
2pm to 3pm

Join us for story time with Patrick from 2pm to 3pm. Children will enjoy the traditional and timeless tales of princesses, knights and adventure. Suitable for children aged five to nine and their parents. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment. Cost £1 per child.


Forest School

Monday 26 July
9.45am to 2.15pm

Forest Friends is an alternative to a traditional childcare facility and uses the Forest School ethos and principles to deliver a fun packed, practical woodland activity.

The sessions aim to teach children about nature through playing wild woodland games, exploration, wild food foraging, making dens and shelters, learning basic bush craft skills and camp fire cooking!

Forest Friends is run independently of Mount Edgcumbe Park by fully qualified and insured Forest School leaders. All leaders hold current CRB and first aid certificates.

The cost is £15 per child or £25 for two siblings. Children will need a packed lunch, drink, warm waterproof clothing, and stout shoes or Wellingtons as the sessions will run come rain or shine.
