Lord Mayor’s Day – May 2010

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

The Hoe and Armada Way
Saturday 22 May, 12 noon to 4pm

A traditional welcome to the city’s new Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress. A range of entertainments and displays will take place on the Hoe, outside Plymouth Guildhall and the Piazza, Armada Way for this year’s Lord Mayor’s Day with the theme ‘The World of Plymouth’.

There will be a variety of different events and activities, including a costumed/uniformed walking parade that will give everyone, young and old, the chance to take part in the event. There will also be live music, performances and displays, demonstrations and family activities as well as charity stalls and community group stands.

To make this event ‘Bigger, Brighter and Better’ we are asking everyone who would like to be part of the day to contact Plymouth City Council events team. Whatever you would like to do – whether it be part of the parade, provide music, dance, entertainment or have a charity stall, we would like to hear from you.

As a city Plymouth is unique in the number and range of events which it hosts throughout the summer months from May until September. To capture the spirit, and help co-ordination of the events for visitors, the Plymouth Summer Festival  was created a number of years ago.
